How do Download and Upload Speeds affect me?
There are two important metrics in bandwidth allocation (measured in Megabits per second or Mbps): download and upload speed, denoting the speed of inbound and outbound data respectively. They are useful for different tasks, so let’s address them separately. If many users are simultaneously sharing a single connection (like on a wi-fi network), requirements will increase accordingly.
Download Speed
This is usually the more useful of the two metrics for most residential users, and for IPTV, this is for the viewers. It reflects how much data can be transmitted to your computer/LAN at one time. This affects the speed of web page loading, file downloading, video/audio streaming, etc. For frustration-free web browsing, we recommend you have 1-2 Mbps per user. If you watch a lot of YouTube, Netflix or other streaming media services, you probably want more like 4-5 Mbps per user. If you make use of digital software and game distribution services like Steam or frequently download very very large files, then you should elect 10-20 megs or faster.
How can I tell if my Download Speed is not sufficient? If you experience stuttering or frequent buffering when you tried to watch your most recent HD Video On Demand. That’s probably a lack of download speed. However, the person that’s doing the broadcast could have an upload speed issue which causes that problem for the viewer.
Upload Speed
Upload speed plays the opposite role in internet activity. It determines how quickly your computer/LAN can transmit data to other locations. In media streaming, its function is to send the initial request for web pages and files to the server. After that, all the load is carried on the downstream pipe. For this reason ISPs typically provide much less outbound (upload) speed to their subscribers, sometimes as little as 1/10th the inbound.
Upload speed has a significant impact on certain operations. Does it take a long time to send an email with an attachment? That’s the limitation of your upload speed. This also plays a crucial role in doing a live broadcast, since you are sending (or uploading) the stream from your location to the streaming server.
The Short and Sweet
Knowing how upload and download speeds affect viewing and broadcasting doesn’t mean anything if you don’t know what your speeds actually are. These bandwidth speeds are not constant, they fluctuate based on how much load is placed on the network. What you pay for and what you are actually getting does not always line up. To be sure, we recommend that you find out your download and upload speeds by visiting speedtest.net. If you ever experience issues where the internet seems to be dragging its feet, run a speedtest. It can alert you problems that your ISP will need to address.

TikiLIVE.com users and TikiLIVE white-label platform users have a new interface for managing their events. The scheduler is built to mimic a google or outlook calendar with easy day/week/month view. Create a one-time event, schedule it to occur multiple times a week, or create recurring events from a simple-to-use interface.
1) Select your desired day for your event from the calendar below.
2) An advanced calendar will pop up.
3) Drag and drop to create the event (same way as your Google or Outlook calendars).
4) Set your details. You’re Done!
SET THE DETAILS:
Give the event a name, set the channel where it will occur, select a day and time, load an event poster and description.
RECURRING EVENT:
If the event is not a one-time thing, being able to set the recurrence pattern will save lots of time and make event management easy. Set daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly held events based on date or based on the day of the week. Set an end to the recurrence after a certain number of events or on a specific date.
CHARGE PAY PER VIEW:
And if you are looking to monetize the event or series, add a Pay Per View price. Set the event so the viewers have to buy a ticket in order to watch the show.

What is the difference between hosting an HD streaming platform on a Lamp Stack Server and using EyePartner’s Tier 1 NOC?
Let’s first talk about what a LAMP Stack Server is.
LAMP is the acronym for a solution stack of free open source software.
L stands for Linux which is free open-source operating system which means the software source code is available. This allows it to be edited according to specific needs.
A stands for Apache which is free open source web server software.
M stands for MySQL which is short for Multithread; Multi User; Database Management System
P stands for PHP which is a reflecting programming language originally designed for producing dynamic webpages. PHP is used mainly in server side application software.
When used together, they form a solution stack of technologies that support application server.
When using a LAMP Stack Server, you will have limitations to how much data your clients can upload, download or store. Once the server has reached its capacity it will then stop working or “crash”.
Here at EyePartner, we have a Level 1 NOC (Network Operations Center), located in San Jose. Our NOC is hundreds of servers racked in a large secure building. We have people working around the clock (24 hours a day 7 days a week) to ensure your data is safe. Our policy is hands-off so anything that is being stored will not be accessed. The goal is to keep your information safe and secure at all times.
With that being said, using our NOC, we are able to deploy LAMP Stack on a cluster of servers and we also hardening default LAMP Stack to fit better and be more responsive for our IPTV solution.
